Tyler Grezaffi Car Accident – Obituary Louisiana: In Loving Memory Of Former Pointe Coupee Deputy Killed In Car Crash On Prison Grounds

WEST FELICIANA PARISH, La. — A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash on the grounds of the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, according to authorities.

State Police identified the victim as Tyler Grezaffi, an employee at the facility and a former deputy with the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on March 18, when Grezaffi’s vehicle left the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation. Authorities said the vehicle entered a water-filled ditch and overturned. Grezaffi did not survive.

Investigators have not yet released additional details about what may have caused the vehicle to veer off the road.

Grezaffi previously served as a deputy with the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office before joining the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola as an investigator. In a statement, the sheriff’s office described her as “a beautiful soul” who made a lasting impact on both the department and the community.

Officials noted that Grezaffi came from a law enforcement family, with her father currently serving at the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office. Many within the department said they had watched her grow into her role in public service.

“She brought light to everyone around her,” the department said, highlighting her dedication and commitment to her career.

Louisiana State Police troopers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further information has been released.
